Police say they're still waiting for the cause of death from the Medical Examiner's Office, but sources close to the investigation tell NBC12 the killers used a box cutter-style knife and a hammer to try and kill the family.

smoke discovered in the victims' lungs show they were still breathing when the fire was set, possibly moments before firefighters arrived on the scene.

Police say they've received more than 50 calls to their tip line and an enormous amount of useful information. They hope an additional $5,000 reward will encourage anyone with a tip to come forward.
